Mona Shetty features in #OneDayOnePerson on BookMyShow

Did you notice #RaniMukerji's not-so-husky voice in #Ghulam?

Do you remember how Kajol sounded a little different in Dushman?

Did you wonder how Ameesha Patel, Deepika Padukone and Lara Dutta had such flawless diction in their debut films?

The answer is Mona Ghosh Shetty, one of the biggest names in the Bollywood voice industry.

Today, Mona excels in various capacities - she is a voice actor, a voice coach and a dubbing director. She specializes in dubbing for teenage, young adult and middle-aged female characters. Her breakthrough happened when she got a chance to dub for Rani Mukerji in Vikram bhatt's #Ghulam in 1998. The film and the character became a rage - despite the actor's displeasure - propelling Mona's career to greater glories. In subsequent years, the talented artiste provided her voice to several of Bollywood's leading ladies - Bipasha Basu (Raaz, Jism), Katrina Kaif (Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye, #Partner, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya), Jacqueline Fernandez (Murder2, Housefull 2, #Race2) and Nargis Fakhri (Rockstar - An Imtiaz Ali Film) to name a few.

Besides Bollywood regulars, for over 15 years, she has been the approved Hindi dub-over voice artiste for numerous Hollywood A-listers such as Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie, Kate Beckinsale, Kirsten Dunst, Halle Berry, Zoe Saldana, Drew Barrymore and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Other than her work in films, Mona Shetty has also lent her voice to numerous major advertising campaigns for leading brands in English, Hindi, Bengali and Oriya. Mona has an incredible grip on four languages Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, and Marathi. But if an ad becomes famous she has to dub them in all the 10 official regional languages, with the help of a supervisor who tells her about the nuances of the respective language.

Today, Mona also serves as the President of a famous dubbing studio Sound & Vision Studios , founded by her mother legendary Dubbing Director Leela Ghosh in 1992.

A fabulous artiste with a supremely expressive voice, Mona's work has greatly contributed to our movie-watching experience.
